I Miss My Sister

Good morning friends. Esme usually writes our blog but this morning she is sadly not here.

She went for an explore around the bedroom window this morning and discovered that she could squeeze through a gap and into the open. She tried catching a bug that was flying past but missed it and fell a long way down. I cried and cried until girl-woman came.

Then girl-woman went kind of hysterical. She was out in the streets like a crazy woman in her pyjamas. She found Esme but she wasn’t the same as before. She was all hissy and scratchy and she couldn’t breath properly. Boy-man had only just gone to work so he drove back and they took my Esme to the vets again. She hates the vets so I don’t think she will have been too happy about that.

The humans are back now. Girl-woman keeps crying so boy-man has taken the day off work. I keep searching for my sister but she’s not here and it’s all so strange. We are all waiting until 12 noon. That’s when the humans will call the vets and find out how Esme is.

Apparently she has a small fracture on her underneath and has had a nasty bump on the head over her eye. She isn’t breathing properly as the air is in the wrong place inside her. The emergency vet-woman has put her in an oxygen cage so she can keep an eye on her breathing. It’s going to be a long morning of waiting. Thoughts for Esme would be appreciated. Lots of love from Bella xx

  2. Oh no! I’m so sad to hear about Esme’s fall. That’s so scary and it sounds like she indeed has been badly injured. Thank heavens girl-woman found her but it sounds very scary as to how she has been hurt. We’re sending lots of POTP (power of the paw) and prayers that your little sister will be alright and back home soon. I guess open windows will be a “no-no” from now on for sure. I’m sure that you are looking everywhere for her……and you two are so close no doubt you just can’t figure out what happened to her……….let’s hope she’s back soon!!!

    Love, Sammy

  7. Through Ann at Zoolatry, we just found out about little Esme and her tumble into trouble. Now reading your account and your additional comments, it seems like though it was a really bad, long way down spill, she has been poked and prodded and the outcome for a healthy, “good as new Esme” is in the works. We’re sending our purrs. “The Boys, the Gurrl Hope”, and Mom Karen

  8. We know Esme is back home now but are sending purrs. One of our Angels (who visits in our dreams) was a explorer too. He knocked the screen out of Dads bedroom window and fell. Luckily it was not far and onto grass but when Dad went to look for him he was nowhere to be found? Hmmm. Then Dad saw him up a tree. He ran up cause he was scared and would not come down. That was the year Dad lost his leg so could not climb up after him. He and the family watched and waited all night but the next morning Inky was rescued by Dads pal using a, long ladder. Inky was higher than the first fall was so we were worried he would get scared and jump. It turned out alright and ever since Dad works on the screens so they are safe. No matter how hard we try they are screwed in. Gee Dad no more exploring. We hope this little story cheers you up a bit

  10. I read about Esme’s accident on the Cat Blogosphere site, and came over to offer my best wishes for Esme’s swift and complete recovery. It’s Friday now, so hopefully there is good news about her condition. Good luck to all there.
